This is a very difficult and challenging course which must only be attempted by experienced and trained open water swimmers. The race starts in the water next to Blake Pier at Stanley and proceeds out to Chung Hom Kok where the swimmers turn right and go across the open stretch to the 2 rocks known as 'Tau Chau' at the entrance to Repulse Bay, near South Bay. Swimmers must reach this point within 2 hours or they will be taken out of the water and brought to the finish. The final leg of the race is into the beach on the (swimmer's right) at the Temple end of Repulse Bay Beach. Swimmers may expect to encounter some strong winds and rough conditions during this event.
This course showcases some of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in Hong Kong and is a long time favourite of many open water swimmers here. The difficulty must never be underestimated.
