One of the most sought after events on the HK open water calendar, The re-named Polson 5 (previously known as “The Five’) returns on Saturday Sept 14, starting from Blake Pier (Stanley Market) and finishing at the temple end of Repulse Bay beach. A thrilling race passing spectacular coastline, The Five is a difficult course and entrants who are not known to us will be asked to provide proof of competency. This race is not for those who wish to ‘have a try’; it is for accomplished and proven ocean swimmers as you may experience choppy, windy conditions, currents, and will at times be isolated and quite a distance from shore. Those who have not passed through the 2 small Tau Chau islands (known as “The Gap”) by 2 hours will be removed from the water. Swim buoys are compulsory. Breaststroke is prohibited. If, in the opinion of the organisers, conditions on the day are not suitable to hold the race, we reserve the right to cancel it and no refund will be given.
